Student Health
Health
A registered nurse (RN) is on duty five days a week. In addition to caring for sick children, the nurse takes care of dispensing medication, updating student health records, working with the county nurse on hearing and vision evaluations of students, and keeping records on faculty and staff.
The nurse gives instruction to students on health related issues, such as proper washing of hands, and is available to work with teachers to schedule visits from health personnel, such as dentists. A separate health suite is equipped with two beds, a sink, a refrigerator, filing cabinets, a desk and computer.
We have developed a school Wellness Policy. St. Stephen School is committed to providing a school environment that promotes and protects children’s health, well-being, and ability to learn by supporting healthy eating and physical activity.
