St. Stephen School accepts children for the purposes of religious and academic formation. Provided there are openings, the school admits students in the following order of priority:
- Siblings of currently enrolled students
- The children of officially registered parishioners* of St. Stephen Parish with consideration given to length of time that the parishioners are registered in St. Stephen Parish
- Catholic children registered at another parish
- Children of another faith background
*Parishioners are defined as Catholic households registered in the parish, regularly worshiping at Sunday Mass, participating in parish life, and contributing to the financial support of the parish by regular use of contribution envelopes.
Requirements
Required forms and documents are all collected in the SchoolAdmin portal upon enrollment. Any families with a special health care need are recommended to contact the school office for a consultation with the nurse to discuss the accommodations requested.
Reading and math screenings may be administered to students in grades 2 through 8 who are new to the school. The purpose of these tests is to determine acceptance and/or class placement. A conference with the principal will be scheduled if necessary prior to acceptance.
All new students are on a one year probationary period. Re-registration usually takes place at the end of November.
Preschool and Kindergarten
Pre-K 3
Our Pre-K 3 (returning for the 23/24 school year) is a half-day program with two options; Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday. Students entering Pre-K 3 must be (3) years of age prior to September 1st of the current year. All children must be potty trained to enter into our preschool program.
Pre-K 4
Our Pre-K 4 offers a full day or half-day program, 5 days a week. The full-day program runs from 8am – 3pm and the half-day runs from 8am – 11:30am. Students entering Pre-K 4 must be (4) years of age prior to September 1st of the current year. All children must be potty trained to enter into our preschool program.
Kindergarten
Students entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years of age prior to September 1st of the current year.
