All four of our St. Stephen School middle school basketball teams were busy this past weekend!
On Friday, February 15 , our girls b and boys b teams played for the championship! Both teams played at Emmorton Rec at the same time. The boys won 23-14 and the girls won 14-12. You can see the teams pictured together with their trophies and then as individual teams in our photo gallery. Both teams worked exceptionally hard this season and made so much progress as basketball players.
That same Friday, our girls and boys a teams played in the semi-finals.
Our girls a team was victorious on Friday, and they moved on to the championship game that Saturday in Frederick. Despite only 6 members of their team being available to play that weekend, the girls won the championship with a score of 33-11. They really showed what you can achieve when you work together as a team! This is their second year in a row winning the MIAC championship. Here's hoping for three-peat next year!
Our boys a team hustled and hustled on Friday, but they fell short of the win. The game sure was close, and it was obvious that they left it all on the court. They play in the Harford County League tournament this week. Best of luck, boys!
Whether they won the championship or not, we are so very proud of all of our teams! And, we are especially grateful to all our coaches and to Mrs. Davies for volunteering their time to our teams. Without you, our basketball program would not be possible!
